DIRECTIONS

1)Wash the basmati rice in the running water and soak it in 1.5 cups of water for 30min

2)Grind the green chilli, ginger, and the garlic into a coarse paste. Cut the onions length-wise

3)Wash the spinach well and put it in the blender and get the puree

4)Heat up 2 table spoons of oil in a pressure cooker. When the oil is hot, add the cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom. Once they attain a nice color, add the onions and saute it

5)Add the green-chilli ginger garlic paste and cook it till it loses its raw flavor. Add a handful of mint and coriander leaves

6)Add the spinach puree and the garam masala powder. Add the water which is used for soaking the rice. When the mixture comes to a boil, add the rice and required amount of salt. Mix it well and close the lid of the cooker. Leave it for one whistle. After a whistle, switch off the flame

7) After the pressure subsides, remove the weight carefully and open the lid. Take a fork and gently mix the rice
