      1. Place the Red chilli under the direct sunlight for 2 days, till it gets crispy

       2. Heat a pan and dry roast  the ingredients separately in a medium flame. Roast them until they get a nice aroma

        3. Don’t roast the red chilli and the turmeric (roasted red chilli will make the color of the sambar powder darker)

        4. After the roasted ingredients become cold, add the red chilli and the  whole turmeric ( you can break the whole turmeric into small pieces in order to grind easily)

         5. Grind the ingredients into a fine powder consistency

         6. Keep this home made sambar powder in an airtight container and  you can keep it for months. Always use a dry spoon to take the powder
